DYNO COMPLETED:

So finished the tune today. It was a fairly hot day ambient temp of 32+degC so not the best for big power figures.

Good news is the motor held up and didn't spit a conrod out.

Results:

The best run of the day was 108.2kw @ 6500rpm on 10psi boost.

We dropped the boost to 8 psi which resulted in 102kw @ 6500 and 250Nm@4500.

After running the engine in for about 10,000km I'll pump the boost up to about 12 to 14 psi which should result in at least 120kw at the wheels.

Yeah not 100% sure on the torque curve as I only had a quick glance at it but it was around the 230 -250Nm mark could have been higher up the rev range as well.

Hey DJW, I'm pretty happy with the results. That's the motor I bought off you about a year ago if you recall. I rebuilt it.

are you daily driving it now dan ? first impressions ?

Not daily driving it yet. Today I drove it on the road for the first time.

Below 3000rpm you can feel the turbo hold it back until it spools up and then it turns into a rocket.

It's having issues with the SR20 TB when coming off acceleration, it seem to need more air when the butterfly is closed because it will stall occasionally. Need to install a idle bypass or something similar to get it running smoother.

mine used to stall on lift when i had the t/b pre turbo eh dan (the maf was sensing the dump/surge, and it thought i had opened the throttle, flooding the engine)
and i did,nt like my original SR20 t/b personally, it has nearly 2 x the airflow (15.8 sq cm and 28.3 sq cm) which means that a tiny amount of throttle pedal lets a lot of air in, and turns the pedal into an on/off switch on wet roads.
i find that under boost there is very little difference in power output between half and full throttle personally (even with the stock t/b) because the air is being forced through the t/b under pressure, where-as with (pressureless) N/A a half open throttleplate offers far more restriction.
and i think the throttle position sensor signals lose a lot of resolution too, if your gonna get 100hp @ 1/4 throttle and 120hp @ full throttle, the t/p/s starts to get irrelevant
