decarbonize???

Tue 09 Dec 2014 02:35:13 PM
Just came across videos in youtube where using a handspray and spraying water into the intake should decarbonize the compression chamber, top of the pistons and faces of the valves? how true is this? if we do this to our micra, isn't there any risk of frying electronics inside the throttle body?

Do not do this!
Only use products specifically made to clean the intake.

You can buy spray products that do a far better job, there also used to be a mobile service that did a full pro job with equipment that hooked into your fuel system and spark plugs from memory...

Although, you can borderline do the same thing just by running fuel injector cleaner regularly for a while, or fuels with a heap of added toluene, which is the most safe and gentle way of doing this to your engine...
