Conrod bearing/shell |
Sat 30 Aug 2014 01:19:59 AM |
I recently swapped the pistons in my spare 1.3 engine for 1.0 piston.
During the swap out I managed to put a scratch in one of the conrod shell/bearings. I emailed Nissan and they linked me to this replacement part http://www.online-parts.co.uk/nissa..._12111bc000-bearing-connect.html#.VABUCNm9LCS When I went to fit it I noticed that the new bearing had a hole thro its centre, which I presume is an oil hole, whereas the old bearing doesn't. It was identical in shape and size to the old one so I went ahead and fitted it. I have contacted Nissan and they have assured me that it's the correct part. I'm due to fit the engine next weekend but now I'm freaking out about the hole!! Have I been sent the wrong part? What do you recon guys ?? |

Thanks Frank.
I just had an email back from Nissan and apparently all rod bearings now come with a hole. They sent me this pic of a batch that has just arrived. So panic over :) [URL=http://s194.photobucket.com/user/wehey23/media/imagejpg1_zps0d9bed0e.jpg.html] ![]() |
