probably anybody that has these are keeping them spare for their car :)
don't know about rare, just expensive and have to come from japan, have you tried import monster, yahoo japan etc |

Why not chop up some old perspex light covers you see in offices for fluoro tubes? Cut them to shape and mount them in (make a fibreglass mould of some sort and fit it in).
