main bearing cap removal |

Hey guys,
I'm tearing down my engine to take to the machinist and I've removed all four rods n pistons, plus ten main bearing cap bolts. The main bearing cap seems to be just sitting in place but I can't yank it off. Any tips? Dunno how it double posted. Mods please delete one thread :D |

I usually use a rubber mallet to tap it on each side which breaks it loose.

I am rubber mallet-less. Next item from supercheapauto. Those guys are putting their kids through college thanks to me.
