Twin core - 16mm core x 2
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1//1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337873294&icep_item=130663228769 or Single Core - 26mm core x 1 www.ebay.com.au/itm/Radiator-NISSAN-Micra-K11-1-3L-5-95-12-98-Auto-Manual-Brand-New-/200836964573?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D6761470413169018109%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D2%26sd%3D130663228769%26 I understand that neither of them are a top racing spec radiator but for turbo application wouldn't the single core be better? Any input appreciated :D |

I always thought you wanted the one with the greatest surface area for heat exchange, and more cores means more surface area. That said I ran my turbo k11 in sprints with the standard radiator with no heating problems.

if it wasnt for the filler neck having to stick out like it does you could run a 42mm thick twin core aluminium civic radiator, there also cheaper to buy & no plastic.

running 160bhp on trackdays, my old dirty thin 16mm stock rad used to overheat after 2-3laps.
then I fitted a new thicker 26mm k11 automatic radiator by Nissen, direct fit and absolutely no prob ever handling the 160bhp on a hot day all day long even on a 51min session :) http://micra.org.uk/threads/pollymobiles-rebuild.35251/page-44#post-502988 |

asdame, thats great to hear, guess I'll go with the twin core and I shouldn't have a problem.

32mm thickness certainly sounds like alot more surface area to handle anything within what the stock internals will handle before going forged.
that filler neck looks very tall, wonder if it'll allow the bonnet to shut. keep us updated ;) |

haha asdame, I was thinking the same thing with that filler neck.
If it's in the way of clearance, I'll give it a cut and bring it down to size... |

On the topic of radiators, this hose kit is for the aussie k11 micra right? not just the cube?
It's been a while since I've seen the engine bay, cant remember if these are the right bends. If so I'll scoop em up. A bit expensive with shipping honestly though. Or would it cost the same for an aussie job? http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1//1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337873294&icep_item=181069326323 Thanks guys. |

well there is this http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1//1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337873294&icep_item=150844652281
the statistics read the same, without clamps on this one it seems but I can buy those from any hardware or performance shop... This is much much cheaper, I think I'll give em a go. EDIT: after looking at the tube 'stitching' I decided to go with the more expensive ones. Still felt the sting on the wallet :/ |
