WTB: CG13 Head

Well took the head off the 265,000 klm engine and realised why you should flush the radiator and not use water instead of coolant.

See picture 2 to 3 mm corrosion in the head making it pretty much useless.

So I need a new head. no cams, valve, etc needed.

If anyone has a head in good condition please PM me.

I bought the car cheap with a blow head gasket but didn't realise it was going to be that bad.

looks fine, clean it up and get the head tested

thats only over the water gallery anyway dan, desperate for a valve grind tho eh !

Frank, the casting has been eaten away there is few area like that but the one circled is probably the worst. Its about 2 to 3 mm deep, you dont think it will effect how the head gasket holds up? I would prefer a cleaner head for peace of mind.

i have a spare head, i will need to look at the condition of it! was going to use it for when I go to turbo but not bothering anymore with it

its outside the fire ring eh dan, potential weak spot for boostin tho i guess

I used to work at a cylinder head reconditioning place and they fixed ali heads worse than that all the time. They grind out all the rotten metal and then weld it back up...

Maybe there's someone near you who could fix it rather than junk it?

Shouldn't be too bad, what would the striped head weigh? I don't think it would be much more than 7 kg or so. That would be about $40 postage. If its too much I might be able organise freight. Let me know if you are able to get a quote.
