WANTED. Desperately need Gearbox

Still desperately seeking good condition gearbox.
Just installed one we'd bought from a wreakers only to discover it's no better then the one we took out.
Now really behind the 8 ball with 2 dud gearboxes and having to pay a garage again to pull this one out.

Whats wrong with the ones you have?

Well the one that was in the car. Initially started out a bit like a CV click which progessively got worse to a severe constant rattle.

The one from the wreakers is a different noise in the intermediate gears, 1,2,3 it gives off a bad whine like you used to hear from trucks pulling up a hill.

We need both cars on the road so cant afford downtime which is why we bought a wreakers gearbox and got our local garage to fit it.

We are taking the car back to the wreakers on Saturday so they can hear it and we'll hopefully get a refund without hassle as it's still under warrenty. They may ask for our old gearbox back dunno yet or they might just insist on giving us another which they'd also be entitled to do.

Sounds like the input shaft bearing, inside the gearbox
