Wallie's K11

Wed 08 Aug 2012 03:25:52 PM
hi this is my 1995 K11 SLX, sorry about the dealer photo's off trading post as i havent picked up the car yet.

im very new to micra's so hopefully this forum can provide some useful info.

at the moment its Bog Stock accept for the roller roof racks.

the bodys straight & has a few small scratchs which some Scratch X should fix, the door mouldings on the outside have fallen off on both sides so il be removing them all together & the rear center light has come apart, out of all the micra's i saw they all had the same issue.

i picked this up for $1600 which is the cheapest ive seen an SLX for in adelaide.

first job will be restoration: fix the scratches, number plate light shroud needs replacing & needs new front passenger door card & a stereo as its just got the 4 speaker am/fm. then the real modding will begin.

as im no stranger to the car modifying scene i see this as quite a fun little project, my past project is a 1988 1.6L Ke TX3 turbo which i rebuilt & is now pushing a humble 150fwkw

so a small update, the car had a massive fuel leak, turned out to be the little emissions tank, replaced that & no more fuel leak, now i just need to work out why my fuel light is always on *sigh* ive installed a stereo just a basic 6.2" kicker splits in the front, 6x9" kicker coax in the rear & 12" kicker sub.

as the micra dosent have the typical boot floor i decided to make 1 to mount the sub box to, i used 5mm thick board & cut it to fit down the middle over the spare. cleaning out under the spare i found pens, pencils, half a packet of chewing gum & a little green army man.

ive made a little list of what to do:

fix fuel light
water pump (the bearings are gone & its noisy)
paint the rims i got for it
lower it
Tint
replace passenger door card
finish removing glue from where the outside moulding used to be before they fell off the rear doors.
replace 3rd break light
replace number plate light trim
replace bonnet

a small update, havent really done much to the micra i removed all the stickers off the rear bumper

picked up a cheap set of rims from a lancer not sure on model but mirage's also had them as a factory alloy option.

they sit pretty close to flush with the guards so i may have to get the guards rolled if i go super low but i think i should be fine with a set of low springs

Put the car on a dyno to see what sorta power its got, 45fwkw completely stock this is my base point to which i can see what kinda mods respond best to give power gain.

unfortunatly i couldnt see the AFR's as the prob dosent fit up the stock exhaust tip
