My Daily Micra

Sat 19 May 2012 02:51:22 PM

Hey Guys,
Posted a few times on here thought it was about time I introduce myself and my car.

So the car is a 95 K11 LX with a bunch of super s part and some other bits and pieces.

Mod List.

Engine
GA15 TB.
GA15 Injectors.
Nismo Muffler.
Splitfire Leads.

Suspension and Wheels.
With Racing Project Coilovers, These are a bit of a mystery, they look similar to racing gear coilovers in terms of colour and setup but are pretty basic in terms of adjustability etc no camber adjustment and there are no 'clicks' to adjust the damping just sorta spins freely.

14x6 cheviot Mesh Rims that have been painted in gloss black.

Interior/Exterior.
Pivot Tacho and shift light.
Nardi Steering wheel taken from an old rx7 halfcut my brother had, lost the horn button so it has a momo one for the time being.
Super S seats front and back.
Super S front and rear bumpers and boot.

Pretty happy with the car at the moment. In the near future I will be getting some swaybars for the front and back and I have been on the lookout for an SAFC 2 and will get it tuned once I have that. As the body is a bit rough I'll eventually get one with a cleaner shell and swap everything over.

Photos.

Just bought me some new leads, the splitfire leads must have been old or faulty car started to miss under load. I got some magnecore HV85 red leads will put up some photos once in just running the stock ones I got as spares with the car at the moment.

Posting off my mobile so link might be a bit dodgy, got them off eBay for around 140-150 could've got the 8 mm ones for cheaper but it was only like $15.

Had a look at nology (spelling) hotwires but they were a bit expensive and their increased spark claims seemed a bit outlandish.

I remember japanese friends from the meeting in Chiba told me to avoid those Splitfire HT leads! Tests done by EBBdude clearly showed there's nothing better than the stock ones.

Well I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I don't know the history of the ones that came on my car though.

Sadly he was upset by some comments from few people in his thread and decided to leave... Big waste for the micra community.

'Sadly' EBB seemed to avoid most opportunities to give specifics in his blogs when people asked for info or help. His main driver seemed to be doing things and making people guess what the results were, then posting them up with little in the way of explanation.

After a while, frustration grew and I think that came out in people's posts.

Agreed, a shame as he could have been much more than a guy fiddling around with a dyno.

Finally got the Magnecor leads took over a month to get here but they are in and so I'm happy, they are custom made and look the part so lets hope they go good.

Also I did a search and I know offset questions have been asked heaps before but I didn't want to dig up a thread from the dead.
I'm looking for some new wheels for my car as it's no longer my daily (got a work car, sweet!) so want to go with a bit more agressive offset.

I'm currently running 14 x 6 +33 with 165/60/r14's.
I'm as low as I can go on the rear and looking to go a bit lower on the front also.

Anyone here thought of trying the Axis OG range I was thinking of maybe the 15 x 8 +15 anyone think these will fit?

Ended up buying some SSR MKIII's for the front and searching yahoo.jp for some for the rear, found a pair of good condition MKII's so may get those.

Went on a trip down the wreckers and they had another micra there, started pulling some bits of it and it had a boot spoiler. If anyone is keen on buying it let me know! I already have a super S spoiler on mine but was thinking of keeping it for the next micra, unless someone makes a good offer.

Also got a new washer bottle. The micra I saw down there is almost 100% intact so if anyone needs anything let me know and I can probably get it for you, it was a white SLX, there is also a red SLX and a silver LX there.
