Lock barrell assistance.

Thu 12 Jan 2012 10:50:09 PM
Hi guys.

I'm currently trying to install a new steering column into my k11.
I have removed the old one but have realised that I need to install the lock barrell from the original steering column into the new column.

1. Does anyone have any experience in doing this?
2. If so how do I drill out the sheer screws to remove the lock barrell?
3. How do I refit the lock barrell onto the new steering column?
4. How do I re-aline the new steering assembly?

At this stage any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
John.

just use a punch to turn the heads john, and i usually bust some of the shrouding metal off first, to get a better angle with the punch.
then refit with allen bolts or whatever :)

Mine has an airbag. Never seen a Super S fitted with an airbag though.

When I fitted a new ignition barrel I used a screw extractor to remove the shear bolts eg drill a small hole and use the extractor to un-screw them out.
