Good quality audio stereo

Thu 15 Dec 2011 11:48:14 AM
Does anybody know a good supplier/dealer for a good quality car audio system? I don't want doof-doofness but I want good quality, I only know about hifi home based stereo systems and the car audio seems so much different, so any help or if you can guide me.

PS my engrish is impeccable.

Cadence speakers are good, Alpine type R or type R are great.

I have a pair of 6.5" rockford fosgate splits in mine with a cheap JVC head unit and standard speakers in the rear. Good sound and i can plug my iPhone in to it.

You want to focus on the decent front speakers the rears just sort of fill in the background a bit.

Head units JVC, Pioneer are the two i have had across my cars always reliable.

I did a thorough research while it's awfully quiet at work and I think I'm aiming too high, but I'm an audiophile... But suggestions are always welcome and regarded!

Lol very vague...depend on ur type of music style and how much money u willing to spend

I wouldnt bother buying those $500 speakers, they might sound good, i dont really know, but unless u want to spend $$$ to get the most out of them i would bother. Just get any $100ish speakers that fit the door and be happy with it.

Since I've made up my mind with the car being under the sun alot and not a good idea to put an expensive set of stereo system in it, I might as well be going with pioneer.

im quite a fan of kicker, there not too expensive for the lower end stuff but its easily comparable to the popular brands high end stuff (sony, kenwood, pioneer) & the 12" kickpack subs are the perfect size for a small car both fitting in the boot & amount of power it has.

sorry for thread revivial, maybe someone new might find the info useful :-)

Oh it's just that I didn't (and still don't) know about car stereo at all whereas I've spent 5 figures in headphones and home stereo already...

But I don't even listen to anything while I'm driving now anyway so I guess I've given up.

I'm currently using a set of jaycar 6" Kevlar splits for the front and have to say that they are the best speakers I have ever purchased. I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants bang for buck. I'm sure you can get better quality splits when you start paying $400-500. But these Kevlar splits are fantastic.
I would also recommend that when you do your fit out, install a decent amp and run all your speakers through it. This reduces the need for subs. Good luck with car audio install.
