Just fixed a tacho to my March and wanna know at what RPM should the shift light blink ?
It's a yr 2000, 1000 cc, Auto.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

Your max rev limit will be about between 6300 and 6900, more than likely the upper end of the scale.

Its probably best to have the shift light come on about 6000 rpm, this then give you time to react to the light and take your foot off the accel, by this time it should be just before the limiter.

Best way to set it is to have a play really! If it goes wrong you car will just hit the rev limiter and wont go any further. Just make sure the engine is very warm when you do this and it shouldnt cause any damage.

yes. It's a good itea to use the shift light as a peak rev guide for an automatic transmission car.

for manuals, it is useful to set the shift light at peek power point or you could set in a lower point for city running.
