Hi all i bought a micra on 14 september 2005, I had it 4 weeks and my auto died. It has been in 2 auto transmission shops, and they cant fix it. What can I do?? I havent seen the car for 4 weeks since, I bought it at car yard in braybrook. everytime I ring about it they say they are trying to fix it.
I have only had it 2 months with 4 weeks driving it, and 4 weeks trying to get fixed.

Hi Musicman,

Sorry to hear that your micra is having transmission problems. Must be really frustrating for you !.

My advice would be just to rip out the faulty gearbox and replace it with another. Replacing with a working unit is quicker and cheaper than rebuilding/fixing the faulty one.

You should hopefully be able to obtain one from a "jap import parts" place or wrecker. Most places will offer some sort of warranty on the unit they supply.

In Queensland the following place can usually help ;
http://www.autopartsrecyclers.com/a1nissan/

Or, you might like to do a search for someone in your local area that can help :
http://www.apraa.com/
http://www.partslocator.com.au/

According to partslocator the following place has one in stock, I am sure they will ship it to your mechanic. I believe Cisco has actually bought parts from these guys before and been very happy with their service.

Company: Delux Auto Spares
Address: 93 Woodpark Road
City: SMITHFIELD
State: New South Wales
Postcode: 2164
Phone: 02 9721 2855
Fax: 02 9721 2866

Good luck !.

Yep. If you bought the car from them I am 100% certain you have the law on your side to get that transmission repaired or replaced!

What they're doing is stalling so that as soon as the car is out of the warrenty they had to supply they can tell you to tick off!!!

Don't let that happen!

I wouldn't worry about them trying to stall you at all...

The fault happened before the warranty expired and its been documented so they can't take that course of action.

What they're most likely trying to do is to get you to take it somewhere else so they don't have to worry about it.

Keep at them though mate, ring up the ACCC if you have to and they'll get onto them fairly quickly. They're very good with situations like this
