Removing the Ignition Barrel

Mon 07 Feb 2011 07:45:52 AM
Hi,

I am trying to remove the ignition barrel from a K11. Do I have to remove the clamp that attaches it in place to get the switch off at the back of it? Seem to be attached on by a sheered off bolt, and looks hard to remove.

Thanks for any help.

You need a small chizel to tap it around with a hammer. Should be able to do it from the bottom i think. I did mine a little while ago and refitted it with proper bolts after that.

Small chizel and tap a groove in it then just hit it in the right direction and should come undone.

the little screw holding the switchblock on is pretty inaccessible without removing the shearbolts eh chris
i always use a centrepunch to remove them, and you can get a better angle on the punch if you chip some of the shrouding wall off

Automatic centre punch does the trick without making too much mess.
