cam belt or not

Hi everyone.

have my mothers micra L 1993 with 26 thousand on it.be jealous...crackin car

I need to ask does it have a cam belt that will need changing due to age not mileage...or is it a cam chain....no ridicule please cos im new.............cheers David

its a cam chain and unless it snaps you generally dont have to change anything untill about 100,000 miles. do you hear any rattling coming from the engine bay?

Nissan UK say to change it every 60,000 miles just to be sure.

As above if its not rattling etc dont worry about it.

To be honest its cheaper in the UK to buy and install another engine these days!

I guess ill just leave well alone as it dosnt seem to be making any noise and like the rest of this car ,which just flew through an MOT, does what it says on the can....regards David
