remove steering lock ? |

is there any way to remove the steering lock on a 96 lx ? im guessing its probably connected to the mechanism that releases the indicator when the wheel straightens up.
I want to remove it so i can start and drive it without a key, as i have an alarm system that can remote start and drive the car. |

I just had the steering wheel off on mine, it seems as though there is a pin that comes out of the ignition barrel and into the steering column, idealy you want to remove or grind away this pin, however the bolts that hold the ignition to the column are tamper proof, as in completely blanked off, so would be difficult to remove.

If you open the drivers door, put one foot on one of the spokes of the steering wheel & swing off the top of the top of the wheel, you may be able to break the lock pin.
Otherwise, take the shroud of the column & drill out the security bolts holding the lock in place. Take it apart, remove the lock & reassemble with new bolts |
