K11 NA upgrade advice ??

Sat 25 Jul 2009 02:19:18 AM
Hi Micra Fans,

Am planning to upgrade my ride but am confused on how is the best way to do so and need your advice please.

I cant turbo my car due to local laws so got to go the NA way. Also am not willing to hack my car to fit in the new stuff so am looking to go as much plug and play as possible.

So here goes my plan:

Current Engine CG10DE 1995 version
Possible Upgrade candidates:
CG13DE 1.3L 58kw, CGA3DE 1.4L 63kw, CGA3DE 1.4L 74kw

Which of these should i change to that can be as much plug and play as possible with the rest of the stuff in a stock 1995 K11 the bigger engine the better but too much modification and rewireing will just make it harder to pass my vehicle inspection and stump the poor dumb me.

Am planning to use a jun racing flywheel,Ga15 throttle body, Ga15 fuel injectors

Also what sort of gear box would i have to use after the engine upgrade for better perfomance again it will have to be plug and play.

I had spent quite a few nights searching the site and am boggled by all the different options and advice on the upgrades. Also am just an apprantice mechanic so there is alot more for me to learn before i can really DIY the upgarde process.

thanks guys for your help

If you're thinking about going the CGA3DE route, have a read through some of the following as it has been covered before:

CGA3DE
CGA3DE (singapore guy)
Turbo CGA3DE
CG13DE vs CGA3DE

Hope that helps.. I don't know personally how much is interchangeable and what is/isn't,but you may find subtle differences between the engines - I can say with a fair amount of certainty that there are more CG13-specific parts out there, so that might be something you want to keep in mind for an N/A build.

Thanks dens

Well with NA The bigger the engine the better am just being gready haha.

I can get hold of Jap spec Cg13 & spares from my yard guys quite easily might just Put in the Cg13 do the throttle body fuel injectors flywheel and pulleys.

That should give me a respectable engine power to overtake or get out of the speed freeks way.
