has anyone chaved the rear hatch handle |

ive seen a few pics of the rear hatch handle shaved off, what is behind the handle, does it require sheet metal to be put in its place? or can it just be glassed over

From memory there's like 3x 10mm bolts going through the hatch to hold on the plastic bit and then there's the bigger hole that can be seen in the above image that has the numberplate light wires coming through it.

by having it either on actuators so that it pops open enough to open or recessing some ouot of the bumper to pull it up
