	hi guys im having trouble with my micra lately.. i need to heat the engine up before i can drive it without stalling.. engine light turns on and smell of gasoline going out the exhaust and stalls if i use the car without heating the engine up for about 20 mins.. i have to warm up the engine everytime before i can go anywhere without stalling..i didnt have this problem before duno whats wrong... thanks in advance, aki

	aki you should have a waxstat on the back of the throttle body, connected to a quadrant that holds the throttle open when cold, maybe it,s stuck ? frank

	frank thank you for the very quick reply.. do you have a pic on the specific part sir? ill give it a try.. most mechanics here are clueless on micras since its an import car.. and nissan garage asks for $50US(converted) just for a checkup excluding repair..so ill go DIY for now.. :) aki

	aki the waxstat is in the middle, and pushes up (or down) to give a fast idle when cold frank

	frank is this the one in red sir? if so how do i clean it? yes i noticed RPM does not raise like before when cold start.. thanks in advance aki

	aki yes, but i think it,s factory fitted, and not serviceable, but you may be able to free it off if its seized tho frank

	frank ouch.. so i guess my last option is to find another throttle body.. do you have any recommended sites to get one sir? thanks aki

	aki check if it moves position from cold to hot first, and if not, try some thin oil on it overnight, then some gentle leverage frank

	update on the fix.. i removed the throttle body and checked on the waxstat.. it was stuck and had to use a little thin oil to loosen it up suggested by sir frank.. will be checking tomorrow morning from cold start.. @frank sir is the waxstat on pull(down) position if throttle body unmounted? or should it be on push(up) position? thnx aki

	sir aki it looks to me like, up for off (no fast idle/hot) and down for fast idle frank

	results of the fix: im very happy with the results of the fix.. engine now running ok even from cold start.. no more engine check issues and waxstat doing its job.. thank you very much for the help and info sir frank! aki

	omg problem is back.. engine is stalling from cold start again.. i noticed the waxstat only gives the engine a little more rpm for a couple of mins and it starts to open and brings the rpm down to normal even though the engine still isnt hot enough..
