http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/certifiers/virm-in-service/general-07-v3.pdf
"A frontal impact airbag and its operating system must remain operational if the vehicle was originally manufactured with a frontal impact airbag." There is a certification process you can go through for modifying vehicles and this can cover removing airbags although I'm not sure who & to what vehicles this is available. It won't be cheap. I think it's generally accepted that airbags are beneficial in the event of a crash. The K11 isn't a particularly "safe" vehicle when it comes to having a crash. Generally there isn't a good reason for removing airbags. |
