Sub rattling parcel- shelf and/or anything else?

Sun 21 Oct 2007 09:14:44 AM
Hi guys just about to install a 12 inch into the boot. Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with stuff rattling and coming loose. I immediately thought of the parcel shelf as it already rattles with no sub. Any other things I should worry about?

Yeah that panel inside the hatch covering the rear wiper motor rattles for most people who don't even have any sub installed. Removed mine a long time ago as it was driving me nuts.

Ok, does having it removed altogether have any affect on the wiper motor or is it alright to leave it off?

Well i've since removed my wiper + motor but I can't imagine it having any affect on it at all. Wasn't a problem when I still had it in there. It's just for aesthetics and to stop crap getting in there. Nothing's going to fall out or anything like that.

If you really wanted, you could probably take it off, line the edge with some foam or adhesive back neoprene and line the edge with it, then put that back on. Same with the number plate - just get some double-sided tape or something if it's gonna be that much of a rattle.
