these things hammer but I have read there is noticable lag when the turbo takes over from the supercharger

There is no lag whatsoever on the SuperTurbo...

There is a pressure switch which engages the superchargers clutch ONLY when the boost created by the turbocharger exceeds that of the supercharger, thus having no lag.

The system was developed to counter lag

Maybe lag is the wrong word.. Fastfours reviewed the car and said there is a noticeable point when the turbo cuts in from the supercharger which upsets the balance of the car.
