Which issue?
That magazine isn't so easy for me to get hold of. The latest issue I've found does not have it. Either I've missed it or we haven't got the latest issue here yet.
I don't suppose somebody could scan a readable version?

Strange they show a photo of a 5spd model if all thats going to be offered in Oz is auto. Maybe it's just wishful thinking or some attempt to effect the collective unconcious.

Hadn't realised that the Tiida was built on a stretched long wheelbase version of the Micra/Clio B platform.
No wonder the SR20 fits under bonnet of the K12 so easily.
It also suggests that the MR18 or MR20 might bolt straight in using Tiida Gearbox & mounts.
Pretty easy way to make a Clio RS equavalent?

So a Nissan K12 running a Nissan M18/20 engine looks like it could be an easy conversion.Weight?

K12 Micra G spec with HR15DE CVT 990kg
C11 Tiida G spec with HR15DE CVT 1150kg
C11 Tiida S spec with HR15DE 4spd auto 1110kg (S spec no fog lights, rear seat tilt, leather steering wheel, rear centre arm rest)
C11 Tiida G spec with MR18DE CVT 1180kg
From the japanese figures above a K12 with MR18DE (or MR20) & CVT would weigh 1020kg

C11 Tiida ST hatch with MR18DE 6spd 1120kg
C11 Tiida ST hatch with MR18DE 4spd auto 1136kg
These are from the nissan NZ site

Nissan USA offers the C11 Tiida (Versa) with manual, auto & CVT boxes.
Auto is 13kg heavier than manual. CVT is 18kg heavier than manual.
This suggests a K12 with MR18DE (or MR20) & 6spd would weigh 1002kg

K11 front track 1470mm
C11 front track 1480mm
Tracks are almost the same. Quite likely the difference in in tyre/rim size/offset. I'd say the half shafts, gearbox, mounts are all likely to swap over. Probably some bigger brakes too.
The Clio III uses the MR20DE (M4R) engine, althought that appears to be 200kg heavier than what a K12 Micra would be with the same engine.

Incidently, the 2 door appears to be 30kg lighter that 5 door.
K12 12c CR12DE 5spd 2dr 870kg
K12 12c CR12DE 5spd 5dr 900kg
