Saurus Kit Car |
Wed 24 Jan 2007 10:43:23 PM |
Saw this running at our local raceway here in Perth recently shipped over from Japan. A Saurus kit-car built in Japan (or offered as a self-build kit) as an entry level race series. This one has a Nismo build plate.
Uses a 1L Turbo March engine driving the rear wheels through a Pulsar gearbox (apparently). Quite an interesting little beast - up for sale for $17,000 from the importer including a few sets of wheels/tyres.Pity I don't have this sort of cash lying around! |

How strange its a MA10T with an external intercooler (fan cooled). Wonder how much power it had. One of those cars with a full on tuned march ST engine would be totally mental!!

Unfortunately blew a turbo seal on its first lap so wasn't driven in anger this day but hope to see how it goes around a track some time soon.

Yeah, the HT07 turbos are tiny. Still that car will weigh nothing so should move quite quick!

Thinking about it. I have not heard of those turbos just blowing a seal. Im going to make a wild guess here that its lambda sensor (if it still has one) broke up went through the turbo and killed it... Anyway thats a pure guess haha

Any ideas whether the cg13de engine/gearbox would be a straight fit replacement for the MA10T?

No definitely not. It would go but it would not be a straight swap.
