removing micra stero

hi there
a friend has asked me if i can fit his new stereo in his micra 1.0LX(K reg).
can anyone tell me how you get the old standard radio out, ie- any tools needed and if i need to get an iso adapter.

Unless you want to wire in the new radio yourself yes you will have to purchase a suitable adapter.

As for removing the facia, easy. There's 4 screws. 2 at the top roughly under the air vents and 2 down the bottom (have to remove the ash tray to access one of them). The bottom of the facia will pull off easily but the top will be wedged in. Push the facia down slightly to dislodge it from the dash. Be careful not to break the air vents as they can be quite brittle.

From there it will be faily self-explanitory.

If you want to wire it yourself there's a thread on these forums with an explaination of the wire colours in it which you will find handy. :)

sorry to go offtopic but would anyone know where i can get a stereo bracket holder from?
