"Revenge for Freedom Fries and other humiliations … a Renault factory near Paris could be showing the General how it's done."
Gotta love that caption :D Freedom Fries were so lame.

Let's hope a smart Japanese company like Nissan can belt some sense into dumb prehistoric GM.

Well quite a few sources from around the globe point to the Micra & March name being discontinued...! If Renault were to drop the price of the Clio..... mmmmmm renaultsport cup182 *drool*

Well not exactly.

As for what they can supply to GM:

Nissan: Carlos Ghosn's fantastic business mind (he is truely an amazing business man) when it comes to saving money and maximising strengths and minimising loss. GM is in dire need of radical new thinking in Head office. They're trying to change but its just not working for them... They're still going broke.

Renault: Well the french have been invading just about every market in the world except the USA. Getting their noses in the door with GM would allow them easy chances to sell their products in the USA...

Technology is irrelevant as GM are fantastic at doing what the Japanese did 80 years ago... Copy other people's designs!! GM have some fantastic motors on offer. The Alloytec built here in australia is one of them. The alloytec has already been selected in Ward's Top 10 engines (the same list that the Nissan VQ has been on for over 10 years running).

Needless to say I think if it does eventually happen it could be a VERY good thing.

Its like all the major cars companies are being fused together which is good in some ways and bad also. When companies get big the bean counters tend to take over and innovative/creative/skunk room stuff flies out the window.
