Hi all, just asking if someone can help out reguarding freighting a set of four alloy wheels with tyres from Victoria to Queensland. What options apart from aus-post do i have?

thanks all,

Thanks mipcar, wasn't all that attractive, turned out to be $260 dollars :(. Two boxes @ 60 x 60 x 40cm both weigh 30kg.

Alex, guess all you can do is phone around interstate freight companies and see who comes up with best deal. Be cheaper if it was delivery to depot and you could pick up.
Lots of trucks hauling stuff interstate but most of em are sub contracted to the big guys.
Send an e mail to Errol. He ships lots of stuff around, he may know someone.
Good luck.

Hi Alex,

My brother has used the following service to send bulky items between Brisbane & Alice Springs. The service is Australia-wide, delivery fairly quick and cost effective.

Also Alex B, I've had the same problem in the past with them all asking if you had an account.. But I found that TollIPEC have a public/consumer servier.

I could actually be cheaper to say to someone, "hey i'll give you some money if you pick them up and post them in 4 separate boxes through australia post". Australia Post is cheap. Just an idea hehe.

thanks cisco, found a few places that don't mind people without accounts, waiting on quote and more info on seller address. I thought of putting each one in separate box via auspost but the calculator on the auspost site says the size of one wheel+tyre is too big for them to carry...odd, 60 x 60 x 20cm. Has anyone sent wheels via auspost?
