CVT to manual conversion, or pulsar auto box |

Hi all,
Yesterday i purchased a 5 door SLX in pretty good condition, but with a buggered CVT. I also have a manual 3 door LX which I am thinking of using as a donor car for a manual conversion. Has anyone done this before? do you know if the auto and manual drive shafts are the same? anything else I should know? Secondly, is it possible to fit a pulsar 3 spd auto box without too much mucking around?? Cheers |

Bit of progress..
620racer and I pretty well finished stripping the crashed parts donor car.. Gearbox, shifter, pedal, starter, crossmember etc etc all removed. Just started removing parts from the auto project to get ready to remove the auto trans.. Will post up some progress pictures in a couple of days. Ordered some brand new engine mounts from Nick (NSM), a brand new clutch, new bearing and seal for the gearbox, new radiator hoses, thermostat, housing etc while we are at it. Hope to get this beast nice and reliable first, then if the woman will let me, get into a few "nice to have's" :-) |

Gawn doom, you know you want it, nothing wrong with a turbo daily, it's as easy to drive as a non turbs. If your careful, the other half may not even know.
Would have saved me gashing my leg open while carrying the gearbox wearing my chinese safety boots and tripping over that spare window..... |

Well the conversion from CVT to manual is complete!
Huge thanks to 620racer for your efforts, and also NSM for supplying some bits. Few hickups along the way, but is pretty straight forward. (just make sure you cover your electrics when you wash the engine afterwards!!) |
