Help with indicator wiring

Sat 13 May 2006 06:12:48 PM
I doubt anyone knows this off hand, but what colour wire would i need to use from the Hazard Switch, to get all the indicators to turn on from a 12v supplied security module.

12v+ --> --> Indicators L + R

if that makes any sense...
Ive tried wiring both L+R indicator wires together from the hazard switch together with the 12v+ from the module and it WORKED. BUT! When i went driving, indicating left turned both L and R indicators on :| Funny yes, but also dangerous.

So im fresh out of ideas. Tried finding an alternating power (eg. 0v then 12v when indicator on) but only found L + R to alternate. Had 1 that was constant 12v, and another than fluctuated from about 11.5-12v... very odd.

Any tips? Or better yet, any colour codes!?

the only way to do it is to use two diodes and run one to the left blinker wire and one to the right... by the sounds of it your alarm was meant to be hooked up using your park lights not indicators.

Thanks a heap lewis! Pity i dont understand japanese <:)

jay85, sounds right. the schematic for the alarm does say "LIGHTS" but it is in "Engrish" so not a whole lot is understandable. Ill try the diodes and get back to ya. Thanks.

Ive got an electrician mate coming over today to help, ill suggest the diodes to him! After all, ive got a pile of em here.
